of Yale-New Haven Health
Yale-New Haven Hospital became a natonal poster child for aggressive collections
against uninsured patients after the release of Uncharitable Care.
Its parent, the Yale-New Haven Health System, is "clearly interested
in having a broad footprint throughout the state of Connecticut and over
the border in New York and Rhode Island," according to CEO Joseph
Zaccagnino. This report describes the brutal turn Bridgeport Hospital's
charity care and collections practices took after Yale-New Haven took
control in 1996.
